Rose, a baby boomer, has been a doormat most of her life. She confronts her husband, Harold, with a new idea for a business venture. He points out her past failures, but she remains confident that one of her ideas will now bring her the success she never achieved in her youth. A freak household accident interrupts their discussion and renders Rose into a coma. While in this altered state, she revisits the past and her earlier life as a young, starving actress in NYC while Harold fights to get her back.
